Partner with WAVE Berwick
What We Do
WAVE Berwick provides grant funding to local organisations and community projects that support excluded and home educated young people.
We fund work that:
Builds confidence and emotional resilience
Supports mental health and wellbeing
Helps young people re-engage with education and learning
Develops practical skills for independence and future success
Creates positive relationships with peers and trusted adults
Who We Are
WAVE Berwick is a grant-making charity supporting young people aged 11–16 across North Northumberland who have been excluded from mainstream education, and those who are home educated.
We work in partnership with trusted local organisations, alternative education providers, youth groups and community projects to ensure vulnerable young people are not left behind and are given the support they need to thrive.
Why This Matters
The North East has some of the highest school exclusion rates in England. Young people who are excluded are significantly more likely to experience poor mental health, social isolation and limited future employment opportunities.
By supporting WAVE Berwick, businesses and partners can play a vital role in changing this trajectory—helping young people build confidence, resilience and brighter futures.
Funding stays local and delivers a visible community benefit
Our Reach
We support young people across North Northumberland, with a particular focus on the Berwick Academy catchment area.
Our funding is locally focused, ensuring that support reaches the communities where it is needed most and delivers visible, lasting impact.
Partner with Us
We welcome partnerships with businesses and organisations that
want to make a real difference in their local community.
There are many ways to get involved:
- Corporate donations
- Sponsorship of programmes or initiatives
- Match-funding employee fundraising
- Payroll Giving schemes
- Skills-based volunteering (e.g. IT, HR, finance, marketing)
- In-kind support such as equipment, services or space
What We Offer in Return
We value our partnerships and offer meaningful opportunities for recognition and engagement, including:
- Logo placement on our website
- Social media acknowledgement
- Impact reports and case studies
- Positive association with a trusted, local cause
- Tax benefits
When a company donates to a registered charity, it can deduct the donation from its total profits before calculating its Corporation Tax. This reduces the company’s taxable profits and, therefore, its Corporation Tax liability.
In order to qualify for these tax benefits, donations must be made to a UK-registered charity such as WAVE Berwick and proper records should be maintained, including any receipts and related documentation.
Impact
With your support, young people can:
- Feel valued, included and supported
- Improve their mental health and wellbeing
- Reduce isolation and build stronger connections
- Gain confidence and essential life skills
- Move towards more stable and positive futures
